Christian Distinctiveness

Vision

Jesus said ‘I have come that you may have life in all its fullness’John 10:10.  He calls us to a full life in mind, body, heart and spirit. Therefore, we believe the purpose of education is to nurture and enable every child to flourish and to be the person they are fully capable of being. Life in all its fullness is about living a varied and full life full of learning, growing, helping, reward, joy, excitement and caring for each other.  Trinity provides opportunities for growth in mind, body and spirit through inspirational and innovative education underpinned by a deeply Christian ethos.

Spirituality

In our faith working party, alongside other key stakeholders such as governors, teachers and pupils we have defined spirituality something we cannot see, but  we feel inside ourselves. It is about a belief in something beyond yourself, an emotional response of awe and wonder, a sense of belonging and purpose in the world.

Spirituality differs from person to person, and often changes within people during their lifetime. It is important to note that spirituality is not the same as having a religion or faith; a person can be spiritual without having a particular faith.

We give pupils and staff opportunities to:

  • Develop a climate or ethos within which all children and adults can grow and flourish, enjoying individual liberty and mutual respect.
  • Explore values and beliefs, including religious beliefs, and the way in which they impact on peoples’ lives.
  • Understand human feelings and emotions, the way they impact on people and how an understanding of them can be helpful in life.
  • Accommodate difference and respecting the integrity of individuals, including tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs on a daily basis as well as through specialist days like diversity day and personal development day
  • Promote learning opportunities which value children’s questions, encourage deeper questions and give them space for their own thought

Our daily life at Trinity is shaped around our core values

  • Reflecting on ourselves - exploring own values and beliefs, which may or may not include religious beliefs
  • Being inquisitive and curious of the world
  • Asking the ‘big questions’ of life and what matters to ourselves
  • A quest for an ultimate or sacred meaning

Loving

  • Learning to love yourself (exploring your interests, passions & desires)
  • A community that cares for friends, family and all people
  • Caring for nature and living things
  • Show empathy and respect for others

  • Opportunities  through the Trinity Charter by promoting pupil wellbeing and self-esteem through rich learning experiences
  • Working towards and celebrating our achievements together
  • Living life with Christian values including a relationship and faith in God, through study of the Bible and prayer.
  • Spiritual development is fostered through all aspects of our provision. It is about the relationships and the values that we consider to be important, as well as the development of knowledge, concepts, skills and attitudes.
